The Activate Success International Foundation (ASIF) has awarded grants totaling N3.25 million to five National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to support the establishment and growth of their businesses.
The grants were presented during a ceremony held at the NYSC headquarters in Abuja on Friday. Of the five recipients, three corps members were awarded N750,000 each, while the remaining two received N500,000 each.
Remarks From The Founder of ASIF
Speaking at the event, the founder of ASIF, Love Idoko Uloko, explained that the initiative was designed to address the pressing issue of youth unemployment in Nigeria. She emphasised that the foundation aims to empower young Nigerians by providing them with the resources and support needed to turn their entrepreneurial ideas and dreams into reality.
Uloko highlighted that the selection process for the grant was rigorous, transparent, and based on merit. She commended the beneficiaries for showcasing exceptional creativity, resilience, and a clear vision for their future endeavors.
She also shared inspiring success stories from past beneficiaries of the program, such as Macauley Olayemi, who successfully built a thriving cake business from the ground up, and Mbuotidem John, who expanded his seafood business into a fully operational fish farm, thanks to ASIF’s support.
Uloko further noted that the foundation has supported approximately 53 NYSC members through this initiative, creating opportunities for young entrepreneurs to achieve their goals.
While celebrating the accomplishments of the grant program, she expressed concern over the persistently high youth unemployment rate in Nigeria, which has left millions of young people struggling to find sustainable opportunities for growth and success.
Through this grant program, ASIF is not only addressing the immediate challenges of unemployment but also fostering a ripple effect of growth, innovation, and entrepreneurship among young Nigerians.
The Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Yusha’u Ahmed, praised ASIF for its dedication to empowering corps members, emphasising that the initiative represents a transformative step in addressing the challenge of unemployment.
