The Legends Club of Okun Land, a socio-cultural organisation based in Kogi State, has announced plans to sponsor 300 underprivileged students in the region by purchasing their Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) forms from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
This initiative is aimed at providing financial support to deserving candidates who may otherwise struggle to afford the cost of registering for the examination.
Olusegun Abereoran, the club’s Director of Media and Publicity, made this announcement in a recent statement shared with journalists in Lokoja. He explained that the decision was disclosed during the club’s Annual General Meeting, which was held in Isanlu, located in the Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Why They Are Doing This
According to Abereoran, the Legends Club paid approximately three million naira to purchase the JAMB forms for the indigent students of Okun Land, which is part of the Kogi West Senatorial District. This generous act further underscores the club’s unwavering commitment to improving the lives of its community members. By offering these forms, the club aims to provide educational opportunities for disadvantaged youths, helping them take a significant step toward higher education.
During the meeting, the club’s President, Femi Olubiyo, reaffirmed their dedication to enhancing the socio-economic development of Okun Land. He encouraged all eligible youths in the area to take advantage of this opportunity by registering early and adequately preparing for the upcoming examinations.
This initiative clearly underscores the Legends Club’s strong commitment to promoting education as a cornerstone for growth and development. It also serves as evidence of the club’s consistent efforts to uplift and support the Okun Land community.
Once again, the Legends Club has reaffirmed its role as a significant force for positive change by providing opportunities for young people in the region. Through this program, the club is empowering Okun youth to pursue their academic goals and achieve their professional aspirations, paving the way for a brighter and more promising future.
