19-Year-Old Best Graduating Student of Wesley Varsity Share Success Secrets

Miss Ifeoluwa Adeyemi, a 19-year-old student, has been recognised as the top graduate for the 2023/2024 academic session at Wesley University in Ondo State. She earned a remarkable Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.97 in microbiology.

Adeyemi revealed that her motivation to achieve excellent grades was driven by a desire to make her parents proud. She explained that having a boyfriend during her undergraduate years would have been a distraction. According to her, she had discussed the idea of having a boyfriend with several people, who advised that it ultimately depended on her perspective. She shared these insights following the university’s 13th convocation ceremony on Saturday, November 23.

The celebrated scholar announced her plans to pursue a Master’s and PhD degrees. Adeyemi also shared her aspiration to become a researcher, emphasising that her passion for making a meaningful impact in the health sector inspired her commitment to the field of microbiology. In his speech, the Vice Chancellor of Wesley University, Professor Sunday Obeka, emphasised the university’s dedication to providing a well-rounded education based on the Wesleyan tradition. 

He urged the graduates to maintain the principles of excellence, integrity, and service as they embark on their future endeavours. The Vice Chancellor also revealed that 10% of the university’s top graduates for the 2023/2024 academic session are deaf.
